Five lessons I will take back to the classroom or my personal life after SI. One of them is the plethora of ideas that I have to use in my classroom. I have learned many things that I will be able to incorporate in my teaching. Second, I have ideas that I am going to take back to the other teachers in my building. The upper level teachers will really like the ideas about I-Search and incorporating writing into science. I look forward to sharing things with them. Thirdly, I have learned that writing should be free and expressive. There is a time and place for writing to show knowledge, but that is not the only time that students should write. Fourth, I am looking forward to writing with my students. The only thing that I worry about is getting good topics for them. I will have to do some research for this part. Lastly, I now know that I can write. I can do it. It may not be prize winning or earth moving, but it’s my work and it’s good. I will no longer compare myself to the people who have been deemed excellent writers. I may not be as good as they are,but I can still express my feelings and it’s right. I think that is the most important lesson I have come away with. Thanks to all who have helped me learn this lesson.

Anne, I can see you being a published children’s author some day or writing Tech lessons for teachers that they will actually use. You are such an amazing asset to SI.
